A poetry collection born from love, loss, and the resilience of the human heart. Elegant Anxieties and the Magic of Heartache began as a series of love poems for my late husband. When we first met, he became my muse—I would write him small verses, little gifts wrapped in words. After we married and built a life together, I continued writing, weaving our love into poetry. Years later, after his passing, grief consumed me. For a time, I couldn’t write at all. But eventually, the only way through was the pen. I began again—not just writing about love, but about the ache of absence, the unbearable weight of longing, and the quiet moments of unexpected magic that come with remembering. What started as private love notes evolved into a body of work—raw, luminous, and deeply personal. This book is that journey, a testament to love’s ability to endure beyond loss. I always envisioned Elegant Anxieties and the Magic of Heartache as more than just a collection of poems—it was meant to be a visual experience, a book where words and images intertwine. To bring this vision to life, I collaborated with a photographer to develop the book’s visual language. We shot in and around my home, with me playing both art director and spot girl, curating each scene to reflect the emotions woven into my poetry. Later, I worked with an illustrator to transform these photographs, adding layers of meaning and depth to every image. The result is a book where poetry and visuals exist in harmony—where words are given a world to live in, and images echo the emotions of each verse.
